Volkswagen unveils the Indian bound Up!

Volkswagen showcases the Up before the launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month  the Up will be take on  Hyundai H800 and Maruti Suzuki's sub Alto car that is may the Cervo but not sure.the prices of the Up will be in the range of 3-4 lakhs. on this photo this is  the 3-doors version and that India might not get  the five-doors version will be launch in 2012 so expect the Up in 2012.

The car will be available with a 1 liter, 59 Bhp petrol engine that uses turbocharging and direct injection to endow it with a terrific claimed fuel economy figure close to 24 KMPL. The Volkswagen Up! currently doesn’t yet have a diesel engine in its kitty although we think that a diesel engine will definitely be in the scheme of things as Volkswagen has an ultra frugal 800cc, three pot common rail diesel engine in its kitty.
This engine has been showcased earlier in the Volkswagen XL1 Hybrid concept that delivered a phenomenal 100 KMPL. So, this 47 Bhp, CRDI diesel engine making it to the Indian Volkswagen Up! is something that could happen in the future given the tremendous demand for diesel cars in India. All said, the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show is set to throw more light on the Volkswagen global plans for the Up!. Until then, keep an eye out on this space.

Force unveils the new One!

Force India has launched his first passenger car in India! prices start at 10.65 lakhs ex-Showroom Delhi. the car is a seven-seater and powered by a 2.2 liter Diesel Engine the same that Mercedes uses by the C-Class and the E-Class, and will currently available in only 4x2 version, The 4x4 version will launch in March 2012  so we also can expect that the 4x4 will  display on the 2012 Delhi auto expo. The One will complete with the Scorpi, Safari  and even Fortuner.

                                                              2011  Force One

the Force One is actually a rebadged  Guangdong Foday Explorer III.Force Motors imports the  panels and assembles the SUV at their plant in Madhya Pradesh.
The suspension and chassis was tweaked by Lotus, UK. Most of you would agree that, the Lotus Exige is one of the best handling sports cars and is known for its close to perfect cornering abilities. The SUV was also put to test in the UK after fine-tuning its chassis and suspension. Despite all of this, those who have tested the car in India feel that the Force One pitches disconcertingly under hard braking, which is something characteristic of softly sprung cars. That said, we will reserve our opinion on the handling and performance of the vehicle until we test it ourselves.

The  4×4 version of Force One will be here in 2012. It will also pack modern safety features like ABS and Airbags which the present 4×2 variant lacks. Now, the main rival for the Force One will be the Tata Safari and the Mahindra Scorpio. Mahindra offer all-wheel-drive and Airbags on their product for the same money. Tata Motors too is preparing a new model of the Tata Safari. Force Motors expect to sell 4000 units of the Force One in the First year, which seems quite a realistic target, but only time will tell how customers react to then new SUV

Hindustan Veer 0.8 Ton Mini Pick-Up launched at a price of INR 3.3 Lakhs

Hindustan Veer 0.8 Ton Pick Up

So, this is the 0.8 ton Mini Pick Up truck that Hindustan Motors has developed on the venerable Ambassador platform. In what is arguably one of the best looking mini pick up trucks in the country, Hindustan Motors, earlier today pulled the wraps off the Veer 0.8 ton Mini Pick Up Truck, which will take on the likes of the Tata Ace and the Mahindra Maxximo. The Hindustan Veer, in a way is a harkening back to the age old Porter Pick Up Truck and Station Wagon versions, that Hindustan Motors used to sell in the eighties as a load lugger and people carrier.

The Hindustan Veer is basically an Ambassador single cab which has a load carrying flatbed making for the rest of the automobile. The Veer Small Commercial Vehicle, as Hindustan Motors would like us to call it, is available with both a BS3 Diesel Engine that is the age old 1,489cc overhead valve 35 Bhp engine and a 1,800cc BS4 CNG engine good for 55 Bhp. The engines, while not being new are tried and tested packages with very affordable spare parts. So, cost effective running will be a major selling point of the Veer SCV.

Hindustan Porter Pick Up

The Veer’s front cabin will feature the traditional Ambassador seating layout of a bench seat, which can set three persons including the driver in a 2+1 layout. This is a significant step up from the cabins of the other Mini Pick Up Trucks in the market, in terms of spaciousness and utility. The Veer will be built at Hindustan Motors’ Uttarpara plant in Hooghly, West Bengal. While the Veer has been launched only in Kolkata for now, a phased nationwide will follow soon. Hindustan Motors’ Pick Up Truck will be available in two variants, Veer and Veer LX.
The main differentiating factor between the two variants is that, while the Veer’s load tray is a separate unit while the Veer LX’s load tray is integrated with the front cabin. The Veer can also be ordered as a single cab design without the load tray(Drive Away Chassis), which will allow the buyer to build up the rear for a multitude of applications. The pricing of the Veer however seems high-ish at INR 3.3 Lakhs, ex-showroom Kolkata. True, it is much more powerful than the Ace or the Maxximo, but with the Tata Ace and the Mahindra Maxximo selling at around INR 2.8 Lakhs each, Hindustan Motors may have a tough time justifying the higher “inaugural” price for the Veer SCV.
