Ford India has said to be planning to enter the ever growing Indian Commercial Vehicle segment The Tata Ace started the revolution and even global players like General Motors and Nissan are tempted to enter the lucrative segment. Ford could be next?

When Company officials were contacted to confirm this news,they declined to comment but considering the Company's confidence levels soaring high after Figo's success, something could be cooking at Ford India. over models is unknown

Toyota Launches Corolla Diesel in India

Toyota has launches the Corolla Diesel in India. the Corolla Diesel cost 10.95-13.75 Lakhs in India (Ex-Showroom Delhi) The Toyota Corolla Diesel comes with a 1.4 Liter,D-4D common-rail engine that pumps out 88.4 PS and 205 NM of torque. The engine is mated to a 6- speed manual transmission.The Diesel Corollla is incredibly efficient and is certified to return 21.43 kmpl by ARAI.

The cars doesn't look drastically different from the Petrol version but for the sporty mesh grille.The Company claims that there have been a few tweaks to make the car more aerodynamic.The Corolla diesel would be offered in seven body colors.

Fiat to Re-launch the 500 in India

Fiat India is planning to Re-launch the 500 over the coming months.The Company plans to position the car more aggressively Vis-a-Vis its main rival the Volkswagen New Beetle.

The move of the Company to re-launch the car comes on the back of the Volkswagen New Beetle having done exceedingly well in the market,leaving the Fiat 500 biting the dust.Volkswagen has sold 300 units of the New Beetle since the launch last November while on other hand Fiat has only managed to sell a meager 68 Units of its 500 ever since the car was launched way back in July 2008.

The Company is now looking to claw its way back into the Premium segment of Hatchback market by Re-launching the car at a morw attractive price point along with an extensive list of customization options.

The FIAT 500 when launhced in July 2008 was the first of a couple of imports which Fiat had planned to launch in the Indian car market to resurrect the Fiat Brand in the Country. but, the car did not meets sales expectations, mainly due to its astronomical price tag and that forced Fiat to go on the backfoot and I'm not sure but cancel the launch of the another Import the Fiat Bravo.

General Motors will revamped the Chevrolet Tavera its sole MPV model for India the Revamped Tavera will launch later this year or Early 2011. General Motors would source a sub 2-liter CRDI engine from Sonalika that will enable the Tavera to meet BS4 emission norms that are in effect accros major Cities in India.

The Tavera will get a 100bhp CRDI engine which should work wonders for the aging workhorse.General Motors could also give the BS4 Tavera a comestic overhaul to imply to the layman that there's something new about it.

Sonalika's Diesel is expected to return close to 16-17km/l. General Motors has said that its future offerings will all have Diesel engine option and the anvantage of diesel fuel cannot be overlooked anymore.

We''ve tried to fuse the next generation Chevrolet front-End with the Tavera and th result isn't too bad. General Motors should add alloy Wheels,Roof Rails,Body Graphics,etc to the new Tavera to set it furthur apart from the Taxi cab model,which we see all the time.

The BMW X3 was the first German compact premium SUV and its success even temped audi to develop the Q5. but X3 ot old in the tooth and Q5 tooks the lead in the segment and white the new 2011 BMW X3 going to be launched soon, the game is all set to change.

Volkswagen will launch the Up next year and will branded as Lupo. the car will available as 3-doors/5-doors Htachback but you can expected that the 3-Doors version that will not made in India . India is not the market for 3-doors car but a few months back was 3-Doors version of the Hyundai I20 spotted in India will that car in India Available? I'm not sure. the car will by 2012 available in UK and Brazil and will come to India End of the next Year.
